FALL SEASON
Season Dates: September - November
Registration Dates: July - August
Fall season focuses on development, and thus scheduled games are once per week on either Saturday or Sunday.
INTER-LEAGUE PLAY
La Mesa National Little League plays within District 33. Our Little League District is composed of 15 other neighboring Little Leagues. You can visit the District 33 website to see all of the neighboring leagues.
Inter-league play is when we play another team within our District outside of our own League's teams. One team travels to the other's field to play a game with our neighboring Little Leagues. It's a great opportunity to increase our community reach.
Fall Season is exclusively inter-league play. Roughly have of the games will be played at La Mesa fields, while the other half will be played on the other teams field.
RULES & LIMITS
League rules vary widely between each division. The younger divisions have extra rules imposed on their play in order to help keep the games moving along.
It's important to remember that Little League is not Major League Baseball. Many of our rules of the game are the same or are patterned after the big league rules, but in order to ensure safety and competitive play, several special rules are put in place.
As kids move to higher divisions, some special rules are lifted, albeit while some special rules are added. As an example, several rules are removed when you move into a pitching division, yet several new pitching rules are applied as well.
POST SEASON
Tournament of Champions (TOC)
Each team in the Minors & Majors divisions will participate in an end-of-year Tournament of Champions (T.O.C.) within La Mesa National Little League. The winner of this tournament will then go onto the Tournament of Champions for the District 33, to see who will be crowned the best team in the entire district.
The CAPS division participates in a T.O.C. tournament at the end of the season. The winner of the T.O.C does not go on to a District tournament.
All Stars
Players from Minors & Majors division that had an exceptional season can be selected as All Stars. The All Star teams compete in several tournaments, whereby if you win and you advancing to the next level tournament. If the team makes it to the final tournament, they will play in Williamsport, Pennsylvania in the Little League World Series.
